Tianyu Expands Handset Designs

Telegent Systems together with Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment announced that Tianyu is increasing the number of handset designs leveraging mobile TV technology from Telegent to drive growth into the Southeast Asia market and capitalize on the popularity of analog TV phones in this region.

Inset shows a current Tianyu Mobile TV handset - the K-Touch V908.

Tianyu has also integrated Telegent's technology into the world's first hybrid CMMB and analog TV handset targeted at the domestic China market. "TV phones are very popular in Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia," said Ms. Rong XiuLi, chief executive officer and general manager of Tianyu. "The TV feature from Telegent allows us to build on our success in China by strengthening our position in these high growth export markets. This is a particularly important corporate objective in the current economic climate."

Following the success of the K-Touch V908 TV phone, which secured the "Best TV Mobile Phone Award" in the 2007 Best Mobile Phones competition held in China, Tianyu has released the K-Touch DT08/DT28 series which incorporates a dual-GSM feature and analog TV enabled by Telegent Systems. Additional models are in development. World's first hybrid CMMB/Analog TV phone Tianyu has also completed the world's first TV phone with hybrid CMMB and analog TV reception.

This handset delivers China consumers with the dual benefits of the digital picture quality of CMMB and the widespread coverage and content of the analog television ecosystem. "The hybrid handset will allow China consumers to leverage the benefits of both TV ecosystems while the digital infrastructure is being deployed," added Ms. Rong. "We are pleased to partner with a leading provider of mobile handsets such as Tianyu," said Ken Wang, general manager of Telegent China. "Tianyu's market leadership and strength in distribution channels will enable them to take advantage of the rapid gain in market share that TV phones are achieving in Southeast Asia, and to lead the domestic China market in TV feature innovation."

Breakthrough for Chinese Mobile Phone Makers

Apple, Motorola and Nokia heads take note ... the next innovation leader you could face probably won't come from Japan or the US, but China.

The projector phone's release, an entire month ahead of the release of the hand-held projector, is just one more sign that more cell phone innovations will come from mainland China.

The cell phone with projector features is just one of the innovative designs and concepts coming out of Chinese cell phone makers and china cellphone wholesale companies these days. A Taiwanese company is making the first Google Android run handset and one Chinese company has even started work on solar powered mobile phones.

China cellphone wholesale companies have not lagged in the innovation stakes. Wholesale dropship company Actfind is showing major brands a thing or two by offering the first competitively-priced or cell phone with projection function before any other major phone maker.

Amy Liu, the PR manager for wholesale dropship company Actfind, was surprised at the hole in the market for a model of mobile phone with projector because people did so much with their phones.

"People simply want to see and do more with their screens," said Amy Liu. Actfind's projector phone gives people a lot more screen to look at ... approximately 80cm x 100cm, in fact.

Amy Liu said what was especially good about the projector phone was none of the functionality of the multimedia mobile phone had been lost.

"The projector phone does everything a cell phone and a projector does," according to Amy Liu. "The projector phone has just combined those two things to make one of the most convergent, innovative phones on the market today."

Amy Liu said the projector phone did everything an international smart phone did, it also projected images from the screen onto a flat surface as well.

According to Amy Liu it hadn't been the first time Actfind had got a source for such an innovative product.

"Actfind is always on the lookout for the newest, latest and greatest in gadgets coming out of China," said Amy Liu.

Want to see Actfind's projector phone first-hand? Then come to Actfind, the mobile phone dropship company, the place where tomorrow's china cellphone wholesale can be found today.
