Samsung Wave Bada-Based SmartPhone Announced
Samsung have announced a new smartphone, the Samsung Wave.
The Samsung Wave is the first mobile that runs on Samsungs new operating system Bada. The Bada is an open-source operating system which Samsung hopes will lead to a vast array of applications and games being made by developers.
A 1Ghz Qualcomm processor powers the Samsung Wave, which means it will run at a rapid speed and will easily cope with multi-tasking. It also features a huge 3.3 inch AMOLED touch-screen, which will be perfect for multimedia playback and internet browsing. Due to the nature of AMOLED technology the screen is thinner and also doesn’t reflect much light even in bright sun.
The Wave is one of the first mobile to support Bluetooth 3.0, which is around 8 times faster than Bluetooth 2.0. Like most mobiles the Samsung Wave has strong social network credentials. It features a “Social Hub” which brings together your contracts from your social networks, email, and phonebook and puts them into one manageable list. The list contains all pictures of your chosen contact, all your interactions with them and their social network updates.
The Samsung Wave will be available in 2GB and 8GB versions and will be launch in the UK in April.

Sonim XP2 Spirit Xtreme Performance Tough Phone Confirmed
Sonim have announced a new tough-phone, the Sonim XP2 Spirit.
The XP2 Spirit features in the Xtreme Performance Series and is the first Sonim phone to have 3G capability.
The Sonim XP2 Spirit was tested in 12 different ways to ensure they are of the highest quality and withstand extreme conditions. The XP2 Spirit was placed in 1m deep water for 30 minutes, tested under heavy dest, dropped from 2m onto concrete, withstood shocks up to 4G and tested under temperatures from -20c to 40c.
In order to meet these demands the Sonim XP2 Spirit is made from tough materials, durable keypad buttons tested to 850,000 pushes, extra-loud audio protected by a cover, scratch and shock resistant screen with extra thick glass and consequently comes with a 3 year guarantee.
In terms of features the Sonim XP2 Spirit has a 3 megapixel camera with LED flash, a video camera, multimedia player, FM radio, email support, a web-browser, LED torch and microSD support up to 8GB. It also comes with a belt-clip- screwdriver and wired headset.
Toshiba Announce Two New Mobiles
Toshiba have announced two new mobiles phones at the Mobile World Congress.
The first new mobile is the Toshiba TG02 (pictured above) , which is the successor to the Toshiba TG01. It’s an ultra-thin device, which is just 9.9mm thick and has a huge 4.1 inch capacitive touch-screen. This makes the Toshiba TG02 the perfect device for multimedia playback as it’s of the highest quality and is a hugely portable device.
The Toshiba TG02 runs on the Windows Mobile 6.5 and has a new intuitive 3D menu system that has been tailor-made. A 1GHz processor powers the TG02, which makes it incredibly fast so it’s ideal for internet browsing and multi-media playback.

World’s First HSPA+ Android Smartphone
Huawei showcased the world’s first HSPA+ smartphone powered by Android at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The U8800 smartphone will be commercially available in the third quarter of 2010, and able to support high-speed Internet access, which is faster than existing 3G smartphones.
The U8800 uses the Android 2.1 operating system, and integrates HSPA+ capabilities to support downlink speeds of up to 14 Mb/s. This speed allows users to download a 400Mb feature-length movie within thirty seconds. The smartphone will feature a 3.8-inch wide screen, providing users with a broader field of vision and allowing them to take full advantage of a multitude of features and Internet applications.Kevin Tao, CEO, Huawei Device, said: "The customized Android smartphones reflect our long-term investment to develop high-end devices which enable operators to deliver enhanced and differentiated mobile services. Android being open to third party programs means that operators can add a number of various applications to the phone. LG GT350 Social Mobile Phone Confirmed
LG have announced another new mobile the LG GT350 , after confirming the LG Arena Max and LG Mini earlier this week. The LG GT350 is a new social networking mobile that comes with a QWERTY keyboard. It’s a new version of the hugely successful LG KS360 which sold over 5 million units worldwide.
The keyboard is a full QWERTY keyboard, which slides out and is perfect for writing text messages, emails and communicating on social networks. The keyboard is made up of four-lines, as opposed to three on its predecessor, making it even easier to type. The 3 inch screen of the LG GT350 is a full touch-screen, which is an improvement on the partial touch capability of the KS360.
The LG GT350 is a truly social mobile and features integrated applications for Facebook and Twitter, as well as integrating all your social networks into one manageable screen. It also features a shortcut key that gives you instant access to your social network sites and shortcut keys also feature for push email, web browser and instant messaging. Real-time push e-mail support is a real plus and it also automatically tells users when they have received an email.
The LG GT350 is launching in Europe in April and will be available in a choice of Aqua Blue, Purple, Light Silver and Black.

PumaPhone Aimed At Fitness Freaks Confirmed
Puma, the sports brand, have confirmed they will be launching a mobile phone. The phone will be called the PumaPhone and will be heavily aimed at people who enjoy sports and like to keep fit.
Puma have launched a mobile site for the new phone to build anticipation for the announcement of the Puma Phone in 5 days time.
The PumaPhone will be made by Sagem and will feature a solar-panel on the back. Precise details of the phone aren’t available, but we do know it’ll have a lot of fitness features.
Puma have stated that the PumaPhone will have a Bike tracker, Run Tracker, Pedometer and a Stopwatch which will satisfy even the biggest fitness freak. Other features include built-in GPS, Photo sharing, Video chat and a Music Turntable.
New Android Smartphone – Acer E110
Details of a new Google Android 3G HSDPA smartphone from Acer have been found released via the Bluetooth SIG website. Its identified as the E110 and is obviously manufactured by Acer as it appears on the product image.
I am sure we will hear an official announcement from Acer during next weeks Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Meanwhile we gleaned that it’s a GSM Quad Band, GPRS, UMTS and 3G HSDPA with the Google Android operating system.
Most of the information available mainly relates to the handsets Bluetooth communications specification but it does seem to have AGPS and GPS on board.
The new Acer E110 smartphone will be coming to Europe but when we are not sure. Will hoprfully find out more soon.

LG Mini - Worlds Smallest TouchScreen Mobile Announced
LG have announced a new mobile phone, the LG Mini (LG GD880).
The LG Mini is the smallest and thinnest 3.2 inch touch screen mobile in the world. It’s refreshing to see a smaller mobile to cater to people who don’t want a huge smart-phone in their pocket all day.
The touch-screen has a widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio, making it perfect for multimedia playback and internet browsing. Additionally, the screen extends all the way to the edge of the phone giving it a sleek finish. Adding to this is the metal accents that feature on the sides of the LG Mini.
The LG Mini has a 5 mega-pixel camera with advanced face detection, which can be used to upload tags photos to social networks in one simple step. Samsung Monte Touch-Screen Social Mobile Announced
Samsung have announced a new touch screen mobile, the Samsung Monte.
The Samsung Monte has a 3 inch touch screen with a widescreen aspect ratio, making it great for multimedia playback. It also features Samsungs TouchWiz 2.0 interface, which is an intuitive and efficient touch interface.
It also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, which features face detection, smile shot and panorama shot mode. The Samsung Monte also comes with in-built GPS which is supported by Google Latitude. Google Latitude enables you to tab your geographical location on their photos to share locations with friends.
Social networking is also a bit feature of the Samsung Monte and it features built-in applications for Facebook and Myspace as well as widgets for Twitter and Bebo. Additionally, it features multi instant messaging capability to chat in real-time with your friends.
Additional features of the Samsung Monte include Wi-Fi , Google Sync, Exchange ActiveSync for email and Outlook calendar.
News of the launch date of the Samsung Monte will be announced at the Mobile World Congress next week.

HTC Magic Gets HTC Sense
The HTC Magic now has multi touch support and improved ease of use thanks to the latest software upgrade. The new ROM upgrade ( Version: 3.05.401.3 ) brings HTC Sense to the Magic. The HTC Hero was the first to get HTC Sense and now the HTC Magic benefits too.
HTC Sense lets you customise your HTC Magic via its Android Sense User Interface and creates a phone right for you. Basically, HTC Sense lets you customize your experience how you like and makes everything you do on your phone so much easier.
The update will take 10 minutes but note that this upgrade will erase any data stored on the phone so back up all your data before performing this upgrade.

Sony Ericsson has announced a new mobile, the Sony Ericsson Aspen.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen is a new business mobile that is in Sony Ericsson’s Greenheart range. The GreenHeart range is aimed at reducing the environmental impact of mobiles in any way possible.
The Apsen has a QWERTY keypad, which is perfect for fast and a touch interface. Additional features of the Sony Ericsson Aspen include a 3.2 megapixel camera, built in a-GPS and a 4GB microSD card. The Aspen also comes with a media player, which has PlayNow capability.
Naturally, being a business phone the Aspen supports email, which is incredibly simple to setup. You can easily backup for phones contents using Microsoft MyPhone, which can also remotely erase any sensitive date from your phone if it’s lost or stolen.
The Sony Ericsson Aspen also supports office files, which can easily be edited and viewed with one-touch operation. Social network support is also included with Facebook and Live messenger applications pre-loaded on the mobile.

LG are to launch another Android mobile, the LG GT540.
TheLG GT540will be a value Android handset, which is a proposition that they also offered with theLG GW620. It will be aimed primarily at social network users and will feature built in applications for Facebook, Twitter, Bebo as well as Youtube and GoogleTalk.
A 3.0 inch touch-screen is present on theLG GT540, which will run at resolution of 320*480 pixels. This will ensure internet browsing and multimedia playback is displayed in high detail and give you the best possible expierence. It also features an accelerometer which automatically rotates your picture when you turn your mobile.
