Dell Streak To Get Android 2.1

The latest internet rumours have suggested that O2 will launch Android 2.1 for the Dell Streak today or tommorow.

The Dell Streak originally shipped with Android 1.6, which is quite dated and this update will bring a number of improvements to the mobile.

New functions will be added which include 720p HD video recording from the rear-camera, native multi-touch support, document editing via Quick Office, support for live wallpapers and mutiple email accounts. Improvements that will be brought include improvements to the phone dialer, speed and performance enhancements and support for new applications.

The Dell Streak got a great review from us at 3G where we concluded that "Offering some impressive features, the powerful Streak is a viable alternative to the iPad."

The Dell Streak features a 5 inch touch-screen, 5 mega-pixel camera with LED flash, microSD support up to 32GB and full 3G and WiFi support.
