A GPS navigation tool has been launched for the T-Mobile G1. The Android version of the GPS application “Trimble Outdoors” has arrived. Currently only a US version is available. Using Trimble Outdoors allows G1 users to use their G1 as a fully featured GPS navigator. There is also a geotagging application which is good for all sorts of outdoor activities such as backpacking.
Trimble Outdoors lets users :
- get maps of desired locations- use GPS breadcrumb trails
- mark / edit waypoints
-use the in-built compass with co-ordinates / speed
When combined with Trimble Outdoors website, the applications can be used for outdoor planning activities :
- plan routes on-line
- receive maps and route plans on the G1
- use on-line logs and other users
